Description:
A small passerine bird, with dark upperparts, head, wings and tail, contrasting with a pure white belly. The bill is yellow.
Habitat:
We had the visit of a small group of Dark-eyed Juncos on their way back to north, just after the last snow fall of winter.
Breeding areas are northern Canada and western US, in coniferous woodlands.
Winter areas are highly variable, mostly in western Canada, US and Mexico.
