Red and black bugs, around 25 mm

Habitat:

Garden in Chiang Mai

Notes:

Around 80 of these bugs clustered in the same tree.

Hello! This could be a cotton stainer from Family Pyrrochoridae. The Genus might be Dysdercus sp. Not sure about the genus though.

Hi Lauren, I added an image of one of the newly hatched nymph's next to what could be their eggs. (image taken by a friend as my camera was being repaired). I've also added a close up of one of the bugs in the hope of an ID
How neat! It would be great to add the picture of the nymphs to this spotting!
Hi Lauren, I have some pics of these just after hatching a few months ago, they then disappeared and I didn't think they had made it, suddenly a mass appearance!
