Description:

Different sizes of left over exoskeletons of cicada were found on this giant tree in Udawaththa Kele forest ! The ruptured opening of the older skin is clearly visible ,the place where the cicada left its final molt !

Habitat:

Fount attached to a tree trunk the molts were attached to the trees with the claws .

Notes:

Molting is the process of removing or casting off a part of a a body of an organism, normally in arthropods the exoskeleton is molted out as the insect grows . This is the final molting stage of cicada !
