Field Notes

Description:

Dark moth with yellow bands on the wings, 1.5 cm long, underwings are a yellow-grey with a dark grey band. The specimen from the second picture was photographed in the same place on 31 March 2013, Pictures 3 and 4 show the color of the underwings and were taken in the same place on 30 June 2013. The 5th picture was taken in the same place on 19 October 2014.

Habitat:

Came to the parking lights of a shopping mall, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you bayucca, I added the two specimens with the wings open to this spotting to combine all the specimens for this species. I seem to have propensity to keep photographing this moth! :D

Erebidae, Erebinae, Melipotini, Melipotis indomita. I think you should already have one in your stream, which I IDed a long time ago...
