Field Notes

Description:

This vine has highly variable leaf types, from these rather unspectacular heart-shaped leaves to deeply palmate. While by no means showy, the bunches of star-shaped flowers are very interesting! With any luck, there will be some dark-colored grapes at the end of the growing season. :)

Habitat:

Native to eastern North America from southern Ontario east to Vermont, west to Oklahoma, and south to Florida and Texas.

Notes:

Spotted in wooded ravine behind warehouses in Kennesaw, GA
