Description:

Black beetle with brown showing through in stripes on the elytra. It looks like it is wearing a thick, yellow collar with black heart. The abdomen is yellow with black striped on the underside. The face is yellow with two black spots above the antennae.

Habitat:

Encelia sp in native landscaping

Thank you Martin! It sure looks similar. It was on a species of Encelia which is one of the main food sources for the larvae.
