Description:

It is said in folklore that these were sacred to fairies so it was unlucky to pick them and bring them indoors! It is a herbacious perennial plant that grows to about 50cm. Photo 1 was after the sun had come out and photo 2 was before. Its also a favourite food source of tyhe orange tip butterfly.

Habitat:

seen in a large open meadow on a walk in Appleby in westmorland
