Description:

Small raptor; 36-49 cm body; 1-1.1 m. wingspan; found on all continents except Antarctica; prefers open spaces; a carnivore it hunts and eats small birds

Habitat:

Can be found anywhere but prefers open spaces and coastal regions where shore birds are plentiful. This one was resting in an overgrown area of a large cultivated garden.
