Description:

This species of Heliconia grows with the bracts facing upwards, allowing the plant to collect rain water. These become refuges for frogs and insects. Heliconia flowers are pollinated by Hummingbirds.

Habitat:

Lacandon Jungle, Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas.
