Description:

The black-armored catfish lives in the Amazon river basin. They stay on the river bottom and use their barbells to find food in the river muck. Size about 39.4 inches. Also known as suckermouth catfish or armored catfish.

Habitat:

This black armored catfish lives in captivity at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.
