Field Notes

Description:

Absolutely explodes with color! About 28" tall, in varying shades of red, orange, yellow, some with white edges around the very rim beyond the yellow. Leaves behind very interesting seed heads.

Habitat:

Along the roadside in Belleview, Florida. The entire meadow was covered with Gaillardia, Phlox, and Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta.) I'm afraid my attempts at capturing the incredible beauty of the area didn't do it justice!
