Yes, I am aware of all of these things. We try to keep them as close as possible to their natural habitat while moving them far enough away from the roadway that they will not turn around and get right back on the road to meet their end. We see just as many dead on the road as alive, and saving them from the roadway is sometimes unsafe for us and difficult for them, but necessary, as these are threatened because they are unaware of the dangers of the roads. We are aware of the laws concerning wildlife and do not break them. Thanks for the comment. It is important that people are aware of all the things involved with wildlife.
Not sure, you may already know this, but turtles must be left in wild where found, moving can confuse them and could die trying to get back and they will try. Also removing them from the wild is like killing it, has no more offspring and can no longer be a part of the ecosystem. Box turtles mate so infrequently too. Thank you. Sorry if it was just to take a picture, I needed to be sure. Taking them from the wild is illegal. Nice picture.
