Field Notes

Description:

Orange body with a black head, wings, feet, and beak. Medium-length beak.

Habitat:

Plenty of birch and oak trees nearby. In the spring and fall the area is full of water over cranberry bushes. In the summer it is humid and swampy.

Notes:

For the longest time here after too many nests made out of fishing string and the nests falling out of trees they were gone from the area for years.

First year here in quite some time seeing them here for more than just a pitstop.
