Description:

Immature Female and an Immature male Hooded Merganser. <br>
Immature males almost look like the females. The immature females have a dividing line from bill and across the eyes with a dark chestnut on the upper part of the head and light brown below. Back of head feathers is a little scruffy. The long bill is dark on top and orange below. The immature male has a dark patch around the almost golden eye. The feathers on the back of head may still look like the female, but it is a little more even. The bill is all black.
