Field Notes

Description:

The Hollywood Jupiter is very tall. Where I found it, it is about 25 ft tall and can get to be as wide as 10 ft. It is adaptable to most well drained soils. It grows very fast. It grows the fastest in places with a lot of sun. It has needle like leaves. The shape is shape is erect and narrow. It has a twisted appearance to its upright branches. It can have small berry-like cones on its branches.
The Hollywood juniper tree has bright green leaves. They are layered on the branches in a scale-like way. They form tight clumps of needles.

Habitat:

The Hollywood juniper tree is named after habitat in Los Angeles.

Notes:

Even though it looks like a tree in appearance, the Hollywood juniper tree is actually a coniferous, evergreen shrub.
