Description:

The cup-shaped flowers of Water Avens have dark red sepals and orangey-pink petals surrounding a cluster of yellow stamens; they hang delicately on long, purple stems. very similar to wood Avens but prettier. They usually flower between May and September.

Habitat:

seen growing in the woods at the side of the river Eden, Appleby in westmorland
