Field Notes

Description:

Northern Copperhead, csc code: AGKCONMOK, sighting type: UNC and OTC, only one snake (we're pretty sure),

Habitat:

under a rock on a hillside at the woods' edge, near a road and foot path

Notes:

Observed by my husband, Daniel, and me multiple times between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
Additional comments: This poor guy was so scared, every time he saw us come too close, he'd run away into the hillside under the rock and wouldn't come back out to where we could see him for at least a half an hour. He rattled his tail as he ran away, but we didn't get close enough to get bitten, in the case that he was annoyed by us or already angry at something.
