Field Notes

Description:

The plant had many leaves that were alternate, and they were smooth. The leaves were generally a dark green color but with a little bit of light green towards the edges. Each leaf had a prominent and sharp drip tip, and the length of the longest leaf was about 25 cm. The stem was very thin (about 1 cm width) and had a lighter hue than the leaves. All the branches of the plant met as they came towards the ground. On each branch, there were about 20-30 leaves.

Habitat:

The plant was in a half shaded and half exposed area. Some parts of it were exposed to the sun, and others were more to the shade. The floor around the plant, was covered with leaf litter and had no blank spots. All around it, there were other plants of the similar size, but there was still a lot of open space for the plant to grow.
