Field Notes

Description:

Noodle-like plant, grows from bulb and not seed. Anyone know what the heck this is? It's growing in my mom's garden and seems to be spreading.
EDIT: This has been identified as a daffodil, thanks to dandoucette! The plant apparently did not get enough sunlight due to hindering leaves, yet still grew into this oddball.

Habitat:

North America, Eastern shore, Maryland; late winter / early spring, high 50's to low 60's, semi-dry soil.
Forgot to mention, this was actually covered by leaves when it was found.

You're welcome. I work as a gardener, I've seen bulbs do this before, especially in early spring.
That's interesting, I've never seen a daffodil do that before! Thanks, dandoucette, for you input :)
I think it might be Daffodil or some other spring flowering bulb. It's white growth and sprawling on the ground habit look like it's just lack of light and possibly being covered in snow or leaves.
