Tiger Moth Nyctemera sp.

Hi Amal, I agree with bayucca's suggested ID - Nyctemera consobrina consobrina. "The recently revised N. consobrina (Hopffer, 1874) is synonymized with simulatrix." - taken from http://www.science.uva.nl/entomol/NyctemeraEngl.html.

sorry i didn't notice that bayucca, i also think it's better not go to species level ld only with this photo.

Nuwan, did you notice, that in my link the name on the picture is actually Nyctemera simulatrix consobrina, in the text and on the linktext it is Consobrina consobrina. Hmm, what's correct now? Did they renamed it again?? Article is from 1995, so quite "old"... Personally I cannot separate Simulatrix simulatrix from Consobrina consobrina and the one posted. So I suggest, that we leave it as Nyctemera sp. What do you think, Nuwan?

Please, Nuwan, can you check this one! Thanks, Noel for your input of Coleta. I had this also on my screen, but I am sceptic. There should be a second white stripe on the forewing and the white band has these typical 3 separate "sausage-like" (sorry the expression) patches. The perspective is tricky to judge the white band on the forewing. Looking closer to the scalloped hindwing, I think in Sonticum it is too scalloped. beautiful species, I think, it's a tiger moth, but i can identified only genus level, wait the specialists for go further identification.
