Field Notes

Description:

I'm guessing that it is a crab spider but I don't know the specific name. When messed with it actually would drop and dangle on a web. I found it on my garage but it wasn't walking sideways. Its also missing a leg on the right side of the cephalothorax.

Habitat:

suburban

I'm not totally sure but this looks similar to one of the Ground Crab Spider species. Possibly from Genus Xysticus. It would be a male with that color and shape. Here are a couple of links that might help: http://bugguide.net/node/view/6750/bgpage http://bugguide.net/node/view/6750
