Description:

Short, about 1 1/2 inch tall, green stems. Flowers are spheres and either red or a mixture of red and orange. Flowers have thorns on them.

Grown in soil in a container

I tried growing those cacti with the orange/red flower inside, and that colorful part rotted and fell off, all I have is the green stem which is very much alive and growing! I hear they are 2 cacti species grafted together.
