Oxalis hirta L

The L is just the way of writing the scientific name in full, referring to the author of the species name. There are a number of Oxalis species found in southern Africa, and unfortunately I'm not familiar with which ones would be in your area. There is some information on Oxalis here: http://www.plantzafrica.com/plantnop/oxalis.htm Based on the leaf shape, yours is more similar to Oxalis purpurea. To add to the confusion, there are some non-indigenous species of Oxalis also found in the area, e.g. Oxalis latifolia: http://www.sntc.org.sz/alienplants/photo.asp?spid=79&phid=124
Thanks Kate, the best guess I can make from the info I could get from the net it is the hirta L. Not sure what the L is?
This is one of the Oxalis species.
