Field Notes

Habitat:

Ranging from California to Alaska, where it grows as a plant pathogen on conifer trees, particularly fir, spruce, and hemlock.

Notes:

Probably Laetiporus conifericola due to range and tree type. Spotted on tour hike during Alaska cruise. IDed by the guide. I'm not good with fungi.
