Description:

Stratiomyidae; Sarginae; Microchrysa; Mycrochrysa flaviventris (Wiedemann, 1824). "Microchrysa flaviventris is a species of soldier fly in the family Stratiomyidae." Wikipedia

Habitat:

I spotted this Soldier Fly on foliage at the roadside where the road goes through a patch of forest, near a stream which passes under the road and runs into a mangrove a short distance away. This is in my notebook as a "hotspot" for lots of insect life.
