Field Notes

Description:

Plain cinnamon brown above with dark chocolate stripe along the flanks. White underparts, white insides and backs to the legs and white rump patch. The face is white with a black band through each eye extending to the nose.

Habitat:

As we drove into the Tankwa National Park we came across the heard of Springbuck. Dry arid semi dessert conditions.

Notes:

We fear that illegal hunting is going on in this park as most of the antelope are extremely fearful of vehicles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankwa_Karoo_National_Park
