Description:

The Gram Blue (Euchrysops cnejus) is a small butterfly that belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family. Male upperside is pale purplish suffused with a bluish shade, apparent only in certain lights. Underside is silver-grey, in some with a pale yellowish, in others with a faint brown tint.

Euchrysops cnejus cnejus (Fabricius, 1798) occurs in the Philippines.

Recorded hostplants: Abrus precatorius, Canavalia maritima, Macroptilium lathyroides, Phaseolus radiatus, P.vulgaris (Garden bean), Pueraria phaseoloides, Sesbania sp., Vigna cylindrica, V.luteola, V. minima, V. mungo, V.unguiculata (Cowpea), V.vexillata (all Papilionaceae).

Habitat:

Backyard.
