Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful cropping of some split-gill fungi with some lichen.

Habitat:

Found on dead log just a few yards from the Grand River, lots of hardwoods and wet soil.

Notes:

When I first saw this stuff I thought it was just a very protruding lichen but I happen to see a spotting of it on here that identified it as the split-gill.
