Field Notes

Description:

This mushroom was growing directly from a dead/dying tree. It is flush off to the tree trunk, fan shaped, and has no stem.

Habitat:

Wooded area with decaying trees.

Notes:

This is a medicinal mushroom. Its location was therefore deliberately misplaced. and is in rare abundance.
It is also known as a Lingzhi mushroom.
