Field Notes

Description:

Nymphs. Found in a group, but I could not find the eggs. I think they're sticking together to mimic ants (exhibiting myrmecomorphy), which deters predators.
Look like Leaf-footed bug nymphs I spotted earlier, but their heads are red instead of black.

Habitat:

Side of my house, in shade under top deck

I think my Swamp Hibiscus used to have these in their seed heads in the Spring.
