Description:

The largest swallow in North America.
THe male is glossy purple (hence the name), with brown primaries.
The female is mostly brown withmantle and cape glossy purple.

Habitat:

Common in western US and Canada.
Spotted just outside of their traditional range, in south Saskatchewan, Canada, in open Prairies environment.
