Description:

Not exactly sure what it is, looks like a white worm/eel/snake.
Quite small, around 10-12 inches in size, constantly swimming in a puddle of water next to a river.

I doubt this is a reptile. Some sort of (aquatic) worm I'd guess. One type that may merit investigation is a gordian or horsehair worm from the phylum Nematomorpha . Here's something perhaps similar (and unidentified) from the US. http://www.fishpondinfo.com/photos/other/worms/betsyworm2.jpg
