Field Notes

Description:

These grasshoppers are extremely small. This one was approximately 3/4 inches tip to tail. I am told this is most likely a female. There are a great many of these all over the rocky shores of this brook. They are difficult to get close to to photograph.

Habitat:

Rocky/sandy shore of a brook running through a deciduous forest. Gully Brook Park, Lake Metroparks System, Willoughby, Ohio, USA.
