I was looking at the buckled wings in pic 1 where they are straight in 2. By the time the butterfly is out there are no sign of chrysalis.
Thanks Mark! I think it was just drinking nectar. The part that might look like a chrysalis is part of its abdomen.
Beautiful photo and species. Is it just opening wings for the first time in photo #1 ?
