Description:
Coloration of garter snakes can vary, but the dorsal stripes and sides are usually well defined.
This particular individual was very dark green/black with a yellow stripe, and was only 9 inches in length. I assume it was fairly young.
Notes:
It was warming itself in the corner of concrete steps, and I had to defend it form several people attempting to pick it up and take it home.
