Description:

Parmelia squarrosa or P. saxatilis. I was told I'd have to look at the rhizines underneath to get to species, which I didn't know when photographing it. The reddish organism creeping over the lichen in the photos is a leafy liverwort

Habitat:

On an oak tree in a forest dominated by birch and pine
