Description:

This was the only white one I saw among thousands here, and the only white one I have ever seen and this is a common plant. In the last photo you can see two flower spikes, but I followed their stems down and they are from the same plant. I was surprised to look closely and see little blue spots on the top half of the flower. I have seen quite a range in the colors of this species, some appearing closer to magenta and some a deep purple which is more typical.

Habitat:

Cape overlooking the ocean. Sandy/ashy ground
