Description:
A large tree of Fabaceae, native to Africa, naturalized throughout the tropics. In the Philippines, the tree is of great economic value. Its buds, flowers, unripe and ripe fruits are of culinary importance. The wood is used in carpentry and in the music industry. The tree itself is used in horticulture as an ornamental, shade tree and bonsai.
