Field Notes

Description:

I found this grouping of green algae in a man made pond in front of a hospital. This pond does not have much running water which allows for plenty of green algae to grow. The green color comes from chlorophyll a & b. The clusters of green algae just floated around.

Habitat:

Green algae is found in fresh water with lots of light. It can be single cellular or multi-cellular.
