Description:

With such a bold face pattern, it is unlikely you will ever mix this sparrow up with anything else. The body is brown and white streaked like other sparrows, but the face is bold red and white patterned.

Habitat:

There was a big flock of these guys foraging on the ground in the tall grass, but of course none of them would let me get anywhere near them. This one finally flushed up to a tree where I could actually see him, but he was still pretty far away. In a stand of oaks near a creek in Palo Duro Canyon SP.

i'm nearing 500, just 10 away, and will hopefully hit it tomorrow...i have several spottings i am in the middle of uploading.
Haha yes, it will come next week. Have a trip this weekend to a very herp filled place, so need an exciting lifer for my 2000 :)
