not 100% that this is a sharp-tailed grouse, so if anyone with knowledge of game birds, suggestions are welcome.

Habitat:

forest

Notes:

He/She was eating poplar buds, must have been hungry.
I heard a loud yet subtle 'kou'ing sound while observing, perhaps a mate.
