Field Notes

Description:

This is the first of 2 series showing a robin fledging in my yard. The bird was preening and flexing its wings getting ready to leave the nest, hopped out and landed on a lid I had put over a rain water container under the downspout on which the nest was located. The parents were in trees calling to it continually.
