Description:

The Peablue, Pea Blue, or Long-tailed Blue (Lampides boeticus (Linnaeus, 1767)) is a small butterfly found in Europe, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and Australia that belongs to the Lycaenids or gossamer-winged family.

The wingspan is 24–32 mm for males and 24–34 mm for females.

Recorded hostplants: Papilionaceae especially Crotalaria species, including C. pallida (flowers and young seeds), also Chamaecytisus prolifer (Tree lucerne), Clianthus formosus (Sturt's desert pea), Dolichos, Kennedia prostrata, Lathyrus odoratus (Sweet pea), Lespedeza formosa, Lotus australis, Lupinus (Lupin), Millettia nitida, Phaseolus vulgaris (Garden bean), Pisum sativum (Garden pea), Psoralea patens, Pueraria lobata, Sesbania cannaba, Swainsonia, Vicia faba (Broad bean), V.sativa, Vigna sesquipedalis and Virgilia oroboides.

Habitat:

Backyard.
