Also, the second photo is a rose-breasted grossbeak and it should have its own separate spotting :-)

Hi Jane, this is not a red-headed woodpecker. They have solid red heads. My guess for this would be downy or hairy woodpecker, but it might not be possible to ID from this picture alone. Do you have any other photos?
