Russula species.

Habitat:

Rocky hemlock-oak cove.

Species ID Suggestions

Thanks gully. I thought it could have been Russula or maybe even Clitocybe too.
Unless the gills exuded a milky fluid I would suggest this is a Russula, although the two genera are closely related.
Russula ochroleuca perhaps?
