Habitat:

A stocky, brightly patterned shorebird, the Ruddy Turnstone can be seen actively pecking, probing, and flipping over stones alony rocky shores.

Notes:

This breeding plumaged turnstone is migrating through on its way to its arctic breeding grounds.

I don't get to see them in breeding plumage very often. In another week or so they'll all be gone up to the Arctic. It's funny seeing them in the grass instead of on a beach.

Love these guys! Haven't been fortunate enough to see one in breeding plumage though, I guess that's a perk to living up North :)
