Field Notes

Description:

Large bird of prey, dark brown/black back with black stripe through eye and a pale breast. The Osprey differs in several respects from other diurnal birds of prey. Its toes are of equal length, its tarsi are reticulate, and its talons are rounded, rather than grooved.

Habitat:

Found perched in a dead tree in Augistine Wildlife Area.

Notes:

Driving down route 9 looking for Eagles and I spot four dots in a tree in the distance. Drove down and cruised into a good position to shoot from and zoomed on in. The one all the way to the right has a fish in it's talons.

I didn't expect them to be there at all. I never knew they grouped like this.
That's awesome they are all together like that
