Description:
with its bright green, oval and upright frond, and its single, tall spike bearing the spores, the Adder's-tongue Fern is unmistakeable. It mostly only has one frond, but sometimes has a pair. not a very common sighting in England although it is a widespread fern. Usually an indicator of ancient meadows.
Habitat:
found in low common meadows maintained by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.
