Description:

This fly is only 4 mm, metallic green in color with a striped abdomen. The male is in the first picture, the female in the second. Soldier Flies, Family Stratiomyidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
