Description:
Hard Shell, Rear edge of shell saw toothed. Long tail with rows of enlarged projecting, bony scales along midline of upper side. Large head with hooked jaws. Maxuim shell length about 18 inches
Habitat:
Permanent or flowing or non flowing bodies of water in the plains region. Ranges from Eastern and Central US to northern S. America. Occurs throughout Eastern Colorado at elevations below about 5500Ft.
